Disaster Response

When a disaster occurs, MAF responds quickly with air transportation, emergency communications, logistics support, and experienced personnel. Getting the right people to the right place at the right time.

We use our skills to get the right people and the right cargo to the right place at the right time, enabling our partners to respond well in remote, insecure and inhospitable locations. We are the missing piece that enables agencies to bring whatever is needed – medicine, shelter, food – to disaster victims.

MAF responds to disasters around the world to bring help, hope and healing through aviation and in Jesus’ name, so that isolated people can be physically and spiritually transformed.

Responding to disasters around the world is a key part of MAF’s mission to share God’s love through aviation so that isolated people will be physically and spiritually transformed. Over many decades, MAF aircraft have responded to numerous disasters – from famine in Ethiopia and genocide in Rwanda to more recent major emergencies including earthquakes in Haiti and Nepal and hurricanes Irma and Maria in the Caribbean. This year, we’ve been there to help the relief efforts for remote communities when an earthquake devastated parts of Papua New Guinea and another outbreak of Ebola occurred in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
