Ellya was born into a pastoral and missionary family in Papua, Indonesia. His family has worked alongside MAF for more than 30 years. He gave his heart to Christ at an early age and experienced firsthand the life-saving work that MAF does. These encounters with MAF created within him a passion to serve in mission aviation. In 2006, he moved to Canada to attend Bible School.

Breanna was born and raised in a Christian home, dedicating her life to Christ at an early age. She always felt called to missions. She met Ellya in Bible School and realized that they shared a passion to minister to the people of Indonesia. They were married in Canada in 2010, and then moved to Papua, Indonesia.

They served alongside Ellya’s parents in ministry until returning to Canada in 2016 for Ellya to pursue pilot training. In 2018, Ellya served with MAF in Indonesia as a National Pilot Candidate. After receiving flight training at MAF US in 2021, they returned to Canada. Their training and experience has prepared them well for their role as MAF Ministry Ambassadors in Indonesia.

Ellya and Breanna are proud parents to Ellyanna (2011), Mireya (2017) and Levi (2021).

A ministry vehicle is essential to our work in Indonesia.

We’re excited to be starting a new ministry with MAF in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia. Because this new program is not on an existing MAF base, we don’t have access to a vehicle which will be essential to us in our roles as Ministry Ambassadors, where we will be able to meet with people and partner organizations without having to rely on unpredictable, unreliable, and costly public transportation.
